The tube in London, has a similar mentalilty to that of a parent-from what I remember of my parents running me around, constantly complaining that they weren't a taxi? Confusing because I never said they were a big black car with a light on top and I sure as hell didn't pay them for it- so in fact very little resemblence to a taxi at all dear parents.
Sorry back on track....
They only agree to picking you up and taking you home, from that party at 9pm and if you miss the lift thats it you have to get the soddin bus home (just like the tube...ok that is a slight exageration- but only by a couple of hours, i mean 11pm really- are TFL completely unaware as to what time clubs, bars and restaurants are open in the big smoke?) They tend to run late- ahem, not that my parents ever did I mean there was the odd occasion I would be forgotten, from school or brownies or a friends house, but you know thats normal haha.
And worst of all just like today- they have days when the answer is NO NO NO- there is no leaway telling them you really do need to be picked up from your friends as it is too far to walk, or you don't have any change to get the bus, or it is just their job to come and fetch you and make sure you get home ok! The tube decides it doesn't care who you are, it doesn't care that you have an important meeting first thing that you can't be late for, or that you haven't been paid yet and literally can't afford an Addison Lee.
Well one day dear tube, the time will come when we grow up, and move out, and don't ever ask for a lift anymore- so please can you just wait til then to decide you fancy a day off to watch loose women and drink cups of tea? If not just for me asking nicely for the 7,556,900 other people that live in London.
