I love festive holidays!

So the past few days have been lovely- a total break from the reality of what a normal day in the life of me normally consists- work, rush hour, tubes, cooking etc etc - not that i don't love those things but just to have some time off and chill out is great.
this time has been a mixture of, pubs, food, falling on the snow/ ice, playing board games (and buzz) drinking, watching Xmas specials such as top gear (amazing) the only was is Essex and Jamie's Xmas best bits, reading a mixture of magazines, eat pray love and Kelly cutrones first book, what else do i need.
I miss my friends and lovely bf but being in the countryside with my family is really nice.
I hope everyone else is having a lovely Xmas time!!

Hi there, sorry for the lack of posting this week- obviously been a busy one in the run up to Christmas!
I am now officially broken up from work so promise to blog daily whilst away (well maybe not tomorrow) haha.

Lara Stone lands Tom Ford Campaign

Another job for model of the year Lara Stone!

In January's edition of W magazine were images showcasing the highly anticipated Tom Ford womens collection.

As per usual Lara reminds us normal bods how amazing she is!

Tom discussed the insiparation behind 4 looks - what a compliment to these ladies; Rachel Feinstein, Karen Elson & Lou Doillon.

Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo has teamed up with Central St Martins to celebrate their 100th anniversary, to design two exclusive concept bags!
Taking inspiration from the stylish Alfa MiTo together with the 15 graduates each submitting a design.
The two winners were William Hendry and Tamara Elliot- whose designs represent a modern interpretation of vintage luggage and carry case.
Both bags are now in production and will be available soon.

NEWGEN Sponsorship

The British Fashion Council has announced the 18 designers who will receive NEWGEN sponsorship, supported by Topshop- woo hoo, to show at London Fashion Week in February. 
The catwalk sponsorship has been awarded to David Koma, Holly Fulton, Louise Gray, Mary Katrantzou and Michael Van Der Ham; while presentation sponsorship has gone to Christopher Raeburn, Craig Lawrence, JS Lee, J.W. Anderson, and Nasir Mazhar. 
London Fashion Week takes place from February 18-23 and I am sure like me you cannot wait!

Meet the Parents

How hilarious is the E4 programme 'Meet the Parents' - I have been watching it every week and laugh every time.
And then just when I think it cannot get any funnier- one of my best mates Georgie and her bf Will are suddenly on the episode where the girl gets punked hahahaha!

Company Magazine Party

So Monday night was Company Magazines party held at the 28th floor of the  Millbank Tower. Normally they have their awards ceremony but this year they decided not to sit down and read off memo cards but to just throw a good ol' party- just what we want/ need to get us in the mood for the festive party season.

They had a live band, dj, photo booth, digital graffiti wall, Thai food, champagne (& a lot more alcohol).

Overall the evening was good fun and nice to chat to a sea of different fashion PR faces :)

Oh and thanks for the goodie bag!

British Fashion Awards 2010

SO last night was the British Fashion Awards, they were held at the Savoy (and man oh man I wish I was on that guest list)

'British designers and creatives are renowned for their ability to set the global fashion agenda.  Each year the British Fashion Awards celebrates their creativity and success.

Established in 1989, the British Fashion Awards was born from the British Fashion Council’s then five-year-old Designer of the Year Award. For more than 20 years, the British Fashion Awards has been celebrating the contributions of British designers, creatives and models to the international fashion scene.' BFA

BFC Outstanding Achievement in Fashion; went to Alexandar McQueen, making it the fourth time he has won this award.

 McQueen will be remembered as the most innovative and influential fashion designer of his generation.

To commemorate Lee’s life and celebrate this award the ceremony will open with a film featuring Lee’s most iconic pieces directed by Nick Knight, styled by Edward Enninful and soundtrack by Bjork. The film will feature iconic pieces from Lee's career from the Alexander McQueen archive.

Accessories Designer of the year went to Nicolas Kirkwood

Model of the year went to Lara Stone- currently the face of Calvin Klein

Menswear Designer: E. Tautz, beating Margerett Howel, Christopher Bailey & Paul Smith!

Alexa Chung won British Style of the year as 'an individual who embodies the spirit of British fashion and is an international ambassador for the UK as a leading creative hub for fashion.'

And lastly one of my fave designers won the best designer brand of the year!!!!

X-Factor final duets!

Directly from the Xfactor press conference held yesterday the final duets for all of this years finalist will be:

Christina Aguilera will be singing with Rebecca, Rihanna with Matt, Will.I.Am with Cher, and Robbie Williams with One Direction... roll on Saturday!

 

 

In the words of High School Musical - I want it all!

When I first decided to start a blog, the main reason was so i could write; my thoughts and feelings and views. After starting my blog I then got nervous about what to write, kind of daunted as to what to say, I mean its scary to just put your thoughts in a text box and click send to the whole world (well the world with Internet access which is quite a lot) now I have overcome my fear and this is another blog entry about my thoughts today:

This is Me



There are times that I think to myself I am really one of a kind, and I don't mean that to be a bad thing. i like being one of a kind and as much as i might look at others and think wow you really do have it all, i still wouldn't necessarily want to changes places with them. It might be fun to live a day in someone elses shoes, and there maybe factors as to what others have that i would like but apart from that - i like being me.

I have great friends, a lovely boyfriend, gorgeous flat, nice things and there are certain members of my family that i literally could not live without- meaning life is good.

The point really for this ramble is that there are times that i feel maybe isolated- you see I am 23 years old and i want it all, i want the great job, to be a great pr, i would like to continue to write, maybe even a book one day, i would like the great car, the great bank balance, the great adventures and travels - the great life and the thing is i have no problem working for it. I'm not lazy and i don't expect it all to just land in my lap.

I just feel at times stunted, i know what i want, and i know that it is out there,  but how do you get it?

its kind of like a jigsaw puzzle where someone has scattered the pieces and i have to spend my time trying to find them- and then- make them fit together.

In my 23 years on earth (not to sound like i used to live on another planet haha) i feel that have already collected more pieces to my puzzle than maybe most would expect, but yet...I atill want it all.

I am looking for those final few pieces to make my picture complete.

Hopefully good things come to those who wait and work (haha).

Anyway sorry for my random ramble I think its my mega strong antibiotics that have me all lethargic and over thinking. :)

Kigu Kraze Pop Up Shop

So apparently a new craze known as 'Kigu' has taken to the streets of Japan and has also been making a name for itself here in the UK - from festival goers to those popping to tescos, these comfortable, warm and quite hilarious get ups are set to be huge in 2011...

ALSO they have a pop up shop on Kingly St at the moment - so you should definitely go and check it out!

Why not go and get a great Christmas present that could last all year!

I will admit that they are incredibly cute and I would love one to wear around my flat (in place of my plaid pyjamas) but I am not sure I would be brave enough to wear one out on the town.

Another reason to love december

So I am sure it is common knowledge that Mulberry moved to 50 New Bond Street- yes excited we were as the countdown began to what was sure to be an amazing new store.

Well this week as me and my colleague were walking down Bond St on our way to the May Fair Hotel to set up for another SS11 press evening, I was greeted with the giant inflatable Bayswater bag (a bag that I have to have at some point in the next few years please please please)!!

It was the best unexpected 'Christmas Decoration' I have seen in my wonders around central London and the store is just gorgeous.

I am a huge fan of Mulberry and become like a child in a sweetshop whenever I am near a store- but this one really takes the biscuit- even if you aren't going to buy anything go and check it out - its like sexy fashion art!

I don't care what you say,...I like her (& obvs love perez)

Wish List...from Jack Wills

I have loved Jack Wills for years, even after working for them for 2-3 years I had such an amazing time and made a great group of friends.

The only annoying factor since leaving and going into the glamourous or not so world of Fashion PR is that I no longer get the awesome discount from the stores, but the list of items I want seems to be never ending!
